We provide top-notch potable water tank inspections in the industry. Utilizing our advanced ROV underwater inspections with a remote underwater camera and lighting system, we can effectively monitor the underwater areas of your tank. Every inspection includes detailed underwater video and photos of the inspection points, all compiled in a binder along with a comprehensive written report.
Our remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) are the perfect tool for larger facilities, especially for conducting potable water tank inspections. The ROV can swim to the rear of the facility and provide a thorough look at paint conditions and sediment levels, making it ideal for ROV underwater inspections.
For the most detailed potable water tank inspection, we can deploy our potable water dive crew to perform thorough inspections. The process is documented using an underwater diver-held video camera and lighting system.
Our Dive Crew members and Inspectors have all completed OSHA training on working at height and in confined spaces, ensuring safety during ROV underwater inspections.
We are the Water Tower Diving Specialists, renowned for our expertise in potable water tank inspections and cleanings. Our seasoned professionals ensure that tank and tower cleanings are completed while your system remains fully operational.
At Water Tower Diving Specialist, our dive team conducts full-service potable tank inspections, cleanings, and simple maintenance tasks without taking your water system offline. Our inspectors and divers disinfect all potable-specific equipment for each inspection or cleaning to adhere to state and EPA standards for working in a potable water system. Moreover, since we specialize in potable water tanks, our equipment is specifically purchased for and exclusively used in potable water applications.
Is there a STANDPIPE in your water system? Our underwater cameras make quick work of inspecting it, ensuring thorough potable water tank inspection. We can get a look all the way down to the bottom!
We also have the perfect tool to clean it! Wallie is our ROV 'ROBOT' Standpipe Cleaner for tanks over 70 feet deep, ideal for ROV underwater inspections.
These structures present many challenges for our potable water dive crew. Wallie can work at depth until the tank is clean, equipped with two cameras and a cleaning tip, allowing him to not only clean the tank but also provide excellent documentation as he goes.
One headline reads: "Dozens of Texas water systems exceed new federal limits on 'forever chemicals'"
According to that article by ALEJANDRA MARTINEZ OF THE TEXAS TRIBUNE, published in APRIL of 2024: In Texas, 49 public water utility systems have reported surpassing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s first-ever limits for five “forever chemicals” in drinking water, according to data submitted to the federal agency. Experts say there are likely more since not all water systems have submitted their data.
PFAS, or perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are widespread and long-lasting in the environment. They are called “forever chemicals” because they don't break down and can persist in water and soil, and even human blood, indefinitely. The chemicals have been used since the 1940s to repel oil and water and resist heat. They have been included in thousands of household products, from nonstick cookware to industrial products like firefighting foam. Read the full article HERE.
USGS Article:
Approximately 71 to 95 million people in the Lower 48 states – more than 20% of the country’s population – may rely on groundwater that contains detectable concentrations of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, also known as PFAS, for their drinking water supplies. These findings are according to a U.S Geological Survey study published Oct. 24. Read the USGS Article HERE.
CNN reports that a government study found “Nearly half of the tap water in the US is contaminated with ‘forever chemicals'." Read the full Article HERE.
Our potable water dive team can keep your tanks clean with no disruption in service and minimal water loss. When sediment has been removed, the habitat that allows bacteria and other contaminants to remain in your tank is also gone. If PFAS has accumulated in the tank sediment, "THEY ARE GONE"!
This allows disinfectants like chlorine to do a much more effective job. Our customers report that they use less chlorine to meet standards after cleaning their tanks.
Divers are sealed in a dry suit to ensure there is no human contact with treated drinking water. Before entering the tank, the diver is sprayed down with a chlorine solution to meet USEPA and TCEQ standards.
The best way to keep chemicals, protozoa, viruses, and other heat-loving microbes out of your tank is to keep it clean! Sediment can provide a safe habitat for all kinds of living contaminants and a resting place for chemicals and other inorganic matter to negatively affect your water. Keeping your tank on a 2 to 3-year cleaning schedule is the best way to ensure a safe water system.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours for inquiries about our potable water tank inspection services or to learn more about ROV underwater inspections.
